The Karumadi Temple is situated on the banks of Punnamada Lake. It is one of the famous pilgrimage spots, where visitors get to learn/experience the significance of Buddhism and the spiritual art of enlightenment. There is a black Idol of Lord Buddha that dates back to the 11th century and features some remarkable aspects of the past as well. Furthermore, the various mythological backgrounds pertaining to the origins of the temple make the place even more interesting to visit. Popular belief states that the idol has healing powers too.
