Kuttanad, Kuttanad Taluk, Kerala
Known as the Rice Bowl of India, Kuttand has an abundance of paddy fields. Legend states that the place was originally a forest that was set to flames and the vast amounts of burnt log progressively led to the formation of massive acres of paddy fields. These fields interact with the water bodies, altogether creating a spectacular picturesque environment for the delight of travelers. Four of Kerala’s major rivers flow though these parts, where visitors can also learn about the historical background of South India.
