This temple was built during the 15th century dedicated towards the fierce Hindu Deity, Goddess Chamunda. There is an interesting background behind the deity’s worship, especially during that time. Wine offerings, animal sacrifices and human sacrifices as well were practices as a part of worship. As ttimes progressed the ways of worship have faced transitions where the conventional practices are deemed unnecessary now. The deity is considered to be one of the chief feminine meditators (yogini) according to Hindu Myths and her sculpture in the temple is extraordinary to the eye. The complex is a sign of great architecture and powerful customs that were prevalent in the past.
