During Chandela rule, Khajuraho proved to be the best home of large and flourishing Jain communities. A number of Jain Temples have survived in various states of preservation. In early 10-11th century, all Jain Temples were enclosed within a constructed compound walls. These Temples are the part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
